From April 2 to 8, 2025, five Italian artists brought the soul of Super Walls – Padua Street Art Biennial to Le Havre, France, for a cultural twinning that united two different cities, but linked by the same UNESCO recognition and passion for art in urban space.
Accompanied by curator and gallery patron CD Studio Carlo Silvestrin, Alessio-B, Any About New York, Giulio Masieri, Shife and Tony Gallo created five site-specific murals on private walls in the French city, transforming anonymous walls into works of art accessible to all.
Each artist brought with him or her a unique language: from Alessio-B’s visual poetry to Giulio Masieri’s three-dimensional trompe-l’œil, from Any About New York’s pop irony to Tony Gallo’s dreamy intimacy, to Shife’s impressionist homage to Claude Monet. A journey through symbolism, emotions and cultural references that was able to involve citizens, students and enthusiasts.
In parallel, the Galerie Jacques Hamon hosted the exhibition “Les italiennes à Le Havre,” with a selection of 50 original works signed by the artists themselves, inaugurated with a live performance near the Hôtel de Ville.
The twinning culminated on April 7 with a lesson on street art at the Le Havre High School of Art, dedicated to the Italian section, further strengthening the dialogue between communities and generations.
This is not the first time that Super Walls and Le Havre have met: in 2024, it was Alessio-B who came to the French city to collaborate with David Karsenty on a mural inside the city stadium. A seed that today has given birth to a shared project full of visions, energy and future.
The collaboration will continue in 2025 with the return of French artists Man-x, David Karsenty and Vincent Gibeaux, who will participate in the next edition of Super Walls, May 17 to June 1 in Padua and province.
Urban art unites, inspires and builds bridges. And Super Walls continues to do that, one wall at a time.
